Biography
Jonathon Knopfel is an assistant band director for Mustang Public Schools.
He is a past member of the OkMEA All-State Band Committee, serving as the committee chair for the 2023-2024 school year. His previous instrumental teaching positions include Edmond Public Schools, Blackwell Public Schools, and Bartlesville Public Schools. Jonathon is honored to have been selected as the Madison Middle School Building Teacher of the Year in 2022 and the Blackwell Public Schools District Teacher of the Year in 2015. His professional affiliations include Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association and Phi Beta Mu. Jonathon is a National Board Certified Teacher (2017) and holds both a Bachelor of Music Education(2011) and a Bachelor of Science(2007) from Oklahoma State University. Outside of the classroom, he maintains a private flute studio and is the proud pet parent of Wally the Scottie Dog.
